Then I grew up...and built a house...and now...I have an off-limits room. I kind of feel like everyone should have one, if possible. All the other rooms in your house have to be functional, and have to be cleaned before company comes over. Not this room. No one uses it, so it psychs your guests out into thinking you have a totally orderly and spotless house, because it's the first room you see. Yes, sometimes I stare at this room because I'm that in love with it. Someone came over the other day to look at the piano. They stepped on the rug and I had to pretend like I wasn't having an inward seizure as I stared at their dirty feet. It was the longest 2 minutes of my life.
I LOVE my piano. I almost re-painted it a different color because I wasn't sure I was into it when I was done, but once the room came together, it became my favorite peice in the room. It sounds lovely when I play the whole two songs I have memorized on it. I need to buy piano books...stat. Enya and Fur Elise are getting a little old.
FYI: I hate posting any pics of any projects or rooms in my house because I don't want to be another BRAG BLOG...but considering that I posted on this a few months ago when it was unfinished, I wanted to show the finished product. (I have, at any given moment, 5 million design ideas running through my head, 5-6 active projects, and a lot of times, I never feel like the project is finished. So this is my redemption.) Also, given that only close friends of mine read this blog and know me, it shouldn't be bragging, right?
It's always so bright in here...I love it...when I'm walking by, of course, and NOT sitting on the couch.

omg. i'm finally looking at your blog on my real computer. you are sooo funny! we totally had an "off limits" living room off to the side. It's where all the visiting teaching happened. A big floral couch and two mauve wingback chairs adorned that ugly room!!! i hope you want to brag about the rest of your house because if I were you I WOULD. How about when we finally buy a house in 3 years I hire you to decorate and paint my piano!!!???? deal.
ps. why do some people have 3 stars by their names? are you now giving out rankings for quality of blogs???
love this room, its gorgeous!
I used to LOVE running in your moms room to see what footprints we could make and then leaving before she knew who did it! Ha! You are just like your mother! I want to come and visit and let my boys loose in there and see what happens. :)
Laura!I love you! I wish I could do this for a living and get paid to do it. How do I make that happen? I'm helping a few other friends and I have found that I'm not stressed...I actually feel totally calm and confident, probably because it's not my own house. The stars are because the blogs are private.
Katie, you're hilarious! I know, I know...children will change the dynamic, but if I could learn to stay off the peach carpet, they can stay off the zebra. :)
Jason--I'm so sorry...I'm not familiar with who you are...or are you a friend posting from your husband's profile? I have like 3 friends with hubbies named Jason..
OMG... I totally remember the peach carpet!
I love your chair and sofa. And the rug. And accessories. And your piano is so cool.
Oh, and I totally bought piano books thinking I'd play more often. But I'm thinking a piano face-lift would probably do the trick. Ha ha.
Really Beautiful! I love the piano too! I would be freaking out if someone walked into a room as pretty as that as well!
I never think it's bragging to show what hard work you have put into a project. I like to see different designs! Thanks for showing!
